Design Engineer

DeepJudge is an AI-powered legaltech startup founded by three ex-Googlers and AI PhDs with a mission to empower legal teams to harness their internal data to make strategic decisions. With DeepJudge Search we are bringing SOTA information retrieval technology to internal document collections of large corporations, law firms, and government agencies. We are based in Zurich, Switzerland, but cater to clients all around the world.

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at DeepJudge. As a Design Engineer in our product team, you will play a crucial role in making sure that our software is a delight to use – both in terms of aesthetics and in terms of usability. We believe that great products also need to be easy to understand, easy to use and well structured.

No matter whether you are a designer who knows their way around a frontend codebase, a frontend engineer who has developed an interest in design or always liked doing both – we're looking for talented individuals who can wear both hats.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of front-end components
• Collaborate with our designer and our engineering team to design and develop user interfaces for our products
• Translate user needs and business goals into intuitive and user-friendly UI elements
• Ensure a consistent and visually appealing design language across the product
• Implement UI designs using modern web development frameworks and tools – we use Tailwind CSS at the moment
• Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback
• Stay up-to-date on design trends and best practices in the legal technology industry

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field
• Experience: Experience in front-end development
• Experience with UI/UX design principles
• Proficiency in modern web development frameworks and tools (e.g. Tailwind CSS, React, Material UI)
• Strong collaboration skills
• Excellent communication skills to translate user needs into technical requirements
